Cancellations and refunds
How to cancel a subscription, when you get your money back, and the statutory rights that apply whatever this page says.
In short
- Cancel any time from your account. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Within 14 days of first subscribing, ask and we will refund you.
- Charged by mistake, or after you cancelled? Tell us and we will put it right in full.
- There is no cancellation fee and never has been.
1. Cancelling a subscription
Sign in, open your membership account, and cancel there. It takes effect immediately and stops any further payment.
Cancelling does not cut you off on the spot: you keep everything your plan gives you until the end of the month you have already paid for. After that the account reverts to the free level rather than being deleted, so you can come back without setting it up again.
If you cannot get into your account, email contact@arabic-tools.com from the address you signed up with and we will cancel it for you. We will not make you argue with anyone first.
2. Your 14-day right to change your mind
If you are a consumer — that is, buying for yourself rather than for a school or business — you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You do not need a reason, and you do not need to have used the site or avoided using it. Email us within those 14 days and we will refund what you paid, to the card you paid with, within 14 days of being told.
Strictly, the law lets us reduce that refund in proportion to the service you had before cancelling, and lets us ask you to waive the right in exchange for immediate access. We do neither. Nearly everything here can be tried without paying, so if you paid and it was not what you wanted, arguing over eleven days of a five-pound month is not a business we want to be in.
3. Refunds after the first 14 days
A monthly subscription is not normally refunded part-way through a month: you cancel, and it stops renewing. There are four exceptions, and you do not have to fight for any of them.
- You were charged after cancelling. Full refund.
- You were charged twice, or charged the wrong amount. Full refund of the difference.
- A tool your plan promised was broken or unavailable for a meaningful part of the month, and you told us. Refund of that month.
- You renewed by accident having meant to cancel, and you have not used the site since. Ask within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it.
Outside those, we look at it on its merits. Email us and say what happened.
4. Downloads and plugins
Software bought as a download is digital content, and downloading it is the point at which it has been supplied. When you buy, you are asked to agree that supply begins immediately, which ends the automatic 14-day right for that item.
That does not remove your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not — it will not install, it does not do what the page said, it breaks your site — you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or your money back, and we would rather give you the money back than have you keep something that does not work.
If you have not downloaded it yet, ask within 14 days and we will refund it with no questions.
5. Schools and organisations
The 14-day right in section 2 is a consumer right and does not apply to a school, college, trust or business. Sections 1 and 3 apply to you in full, and in practice we treat a school that has made an honest mistake exactly as we would treat an individual.
If you need to buy on a purchase order or an invoice rather than a card, email us — that is normal and we can do it.
6. How to ask, and how long it takes
Email contact@arabic-tools.com from the address on the account, say what you would like refunded and roughly why. You do not need a form or a reference number.
We aim to reply within five working days. Refunds go back to the card you paid with — we cannot send them anywhere else — and usually appear within a few working days of being issued, depending on your bank.
If we say no, we will say why, and you can take it up with your card issuer or with Citizens Advice. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.
