The one thing a bingo generator has to get right is that no two cards are the same: a set where two children hold identical cards is not a game, because they win together on the same call and the lesson stops. Cards here are compared against each other and rebuilt on a clash, and when your word list is genuinely too small to make the number of different cards you asked for, the tool says so instead of quietly handing out duplicates. The set is generated from the word list itself, so printing again gives you the same cards — the child who lost card seven gets card seven back, not a new one that clashes with somebody else's. Common questions
How many words do I need?
As many as there are squares: nine for a 3 × 3, sixteen for a 4 × 4, twenty-five for a 5 × 5 — one fewer if you use a free middle square. More than the minimum is much better, because that is what lets the cards differ from one another rather than just being shuffled.
Why is the free square only offered on some sizes?
A free square goes in the middle, and only a grid with an odd number of squares a side has a middle. A 4 × 4 has no centre cell, so the option is ignored there rather than putting the star somewhere arbitrary.
It says it could not make as many different cards as I asked for.
Then your word list is too short for that many genuinely different cards. Add more words — that is the only real fix, and it is better than being handed duplicates you would not notice until two children shouted at once.
Can I print the same set again later?
Yes. The set is built from the word list and the settings, so the same inputs always give the same cards in the same order. Reprint and card seven is still card seven.
What is the caller list?
Your copy: every word in a shuffled order, to read out and tick off. Switch it on and it prints after the cards.
Does it work for things other than vocabulary?
Yes — letters, numbers, verb forms, countries, anything you can type as a list. Nothing about it is specific to vocabulary.
