A smartboard-friendly noise monitor. The browser uses your device's microphone to detect classroom volume and shows it on a large visual bar. Once the noise level goes past a set threshold, the bar turns red, encouraging students to self-regulate their volume.
Common questions
Does it record or save any audio?
No. The audio is analyzed entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is recorded or saved.
Why does it say "Permission Needed"?
Web browsers require your permission to access the microphone. Just click "Start Monitoring" and approve the prompt that appears at the top of your browser.
How do I adjust the sensitivity?
Use the Sensitivity slider. If the bar is moving too much when the class is silent, lower the sensitivity. If it barely moves even when they are speaking, increase it.
