If a parent's preferred slot is full, it intelligently places them in the next available slot. If it fails completely, it provides a clear "Unplaced Parents" report so admin can easily handle exceptions.
Common questions
What happens if a parent can't be scheduled?
The tool will still generate the full timetable for everyone else. At the top of the screen, it will display a clear, actionable "Unplaced Parents" list. You can manually assign these via email or phone using the displayed teacher and preferred time as a guide.
Can I import parent lists from a spreadsheet?
Yes! You can copy/paste a CSV directly into the input box. The format expected is: `Parent Name, Teacher Name, Room (Optional), Preferred Slot (Optional)`. We also support plain text lines.
Do I need to save my data?
No. Everything lives in your browser and automatically saves to `localStorage`. If you accidentally close the tab, the setup data and the last generated schedule will be waiting for you.
Can I use this for multiple evenings?
Absolutely. Just reset the time slots, and hit "Generate" again. The tool will clear the old schedule and compute a brand new set of appointments.
