A video is not a lesson until you can work with it

There is no shortage of Arabic on YouTube. What is missing is the apparatus around it: a transcript you can follow while it plays, a way to hear one word again on its own, somewhere to put the words you did not know, and a check at the end that you understood any of it. This builds that apparatus around a link.

The transcript follows the video

Put a timestamp at the front of a line and the generator does the rest: the line lights up as it is spoken, clicking a line jumps the video to it, and one button loops a single line so you can shadow it until it sits right. Lines without a timestamp still work for reading and for vocabulary — you simply cannot jump to them.

Shadowing, properly

Shadowing means hearing a phrase and repeating it immediately, then comparing. Select a word or a line, hear it in a natural voice, record yourself, and play the two back to back. Slow the model voice down to three-quarter speed while a sound is new, then take it back up.

Made for a lesson, not just a session

Teachers build a lesson once and hand out a link. Pupils open that single lesson — no account, no library, nothing else on the site — and work through it. Solo learners keep their own shelf of lessons and their saved words follow them between devices, because the words are kept against the account rather than in one browser.

See a finished lesson first

One lesson is open to everybody: a short story, with the transcript running against the video, a word read back to you on request, and the questions at the end. Open the demo lesson — no account, nothing to install.

أسئلة شائعة

Where do I get the transcript?

Many Arabic videos have subtitles you can open from YouTube's transcript panel and paste straight in, timestamps and all. Otherwise type the lines yourself — for a two-minute clip that is a few minutes' work, and it is the part that makes the lesson.

What do timestamps look like?

Put the time at the start of the line: 0:12 النص هنا. Square brackets and hours both work — [00:01:12] is fine. Any line without one still appears; it just cannot be clicked to jump.

Can my pupils use it without an account?

Yes, through a share link. Switch sharing on for one lesson and hand out the address: it opens that lesson and nothing else — no library, no editor, and no route to anyone else's work. Switch it off and the link stops working immediately.

Does the AI write the questions for me?

It can. Paste the transcript and the generator drafts comprehension questions and a vocabulary list from it, which you then edit — a draft you correct is much faster than a blank box. That step spends one run from your allowance; everything else here, including all the audio, is free to use.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. Shadowing recordings stay in your browser and are gone when you close the tab. Nothing you record is sent to us or stored anywhere.
