Observations in, paperwork out
You already know what the barrier is — you have watched it in your lessons for a term. What takes the evening is turning "loses her place constantly and won't write anything down" into a profile, three SMART targets, a strategy table and a set of reasonable adjustments, in the register the paperwork expects.
Specific to Arabic
Generic SEND advice is easy to find and not very useful in an Arabic classroom. The strategies here address the actual barriers: right-to-left directionality, unfamiliar letterforms that change shape by position, the visual density of tashkeel, and root-and-pattern morphology. Strategies are ordered by how much preparation they cost you, cheapest first.
No names, by design
There is no field for the pupil's name, and the plan refers throughout to "the pupil". A commercial website has no business receiving a child's name next to a description of their needs. Add the name yourself once the draft is in your own system.
A draft, not a plan
This produces a first draft for a qualified professional to review. It does not diagnose, and it is not a substitute for your SENCO — it removes the blank-page problem so your expertise goes into the judgement rather than the formatting.
Common questions
Is this compliant with the SEND Code of Practice?
It follows the graduated approach and the structure UK schools generally expect. Your school will have its own template and terminology, so treat the output as content to move across rather than a finished document.
Why can I not enter the pupil's name?
Because it is not needed to write the plan, and sending a child's name alongside their special educational needs to a third-party service is not something we want to make easy. Add it in your own system.
Can I use it for a pupil with more than one area of need?
Choose the primary area and describe the rest in the observations. The plan takes the whole picture into account.
